JoAnna Mak is a poet whose work explores alienation, institutional violence, and the things that make love durable. Their poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Black Warrior Review, The Margins, Variant Literature, and elsewhere. A former Brooklyn Poets fellow, they are currently an MFA candidate at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and teach at the University of Iowa.
