JoAnna Mak is a poet whose work explores alienation, structural violence, and the things that make love durable. Their poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Black Warrior Review, The Journal, The Margins, and elsewhere, and has been supported by Brooklyn Poets and the Napa Valley Writers’ Conference. They are currently an MFA candidate at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and teach at the University of Iowa.
